Personalized Nutrition Plan and RMR
Here, at Wellness Architects, we don’t see nutrition as a one-diet plan fits all. Every diet program is specifically designed with the patient’s needs in mind.
Our diet generally includes nutrient-rich, less refined and processed meals with more proteins and fewer carbohydrates. Wellness Architects will teach you how to distinguish the good from the bad carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. We will show you how to avoid foods that don’t benefit your hormone levels. This will help you create long- term habits where measuring grams and counting calories won’t be necessary.
Eating habits have changed in recent years, making it harder to eat healthily. These days, genetically modified foods, numerous unpronounceable ingredients, additives, and large sugar contents are present in our food. These foods are the cause of diseases such as type 2 diabetes, stroke, cancer, cardiovascular problems, high blood pressure, metabolic disorders, among other degenerative diseases. They also contribute to weight gain and gut problems, as well as insulin resistance.
Nutrition Plan Purpose
- Improve the results of hormone replacement treatment – Through proper nutrition, hormones work at their best. Proper nutrition will decrease blood sugar, which will stabilize insulin ranges and decrease insulin resistance, which causes inflammation. We believe that although inflammation goes unnoticed, it is what drives every degenerative disease.
- Decrease probability and treat diseases – A well-balanced diet with proper hormonal balance will decrease the risk of developing cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Following a proper nutrition plan, our patients can lower the probability of having chronic conditions, prevent, and even reverse heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
- Improve eating habits – Adding more fiber to your diet, eating the correct kind of fat, ingesting low glycemic load carbohydrates, lean proteins, and hydrating correctly will help decrease age-related diseases, as well as control and/or lose unwanted weight, manage stress better, and have more energy.
- Strengthen immune system – With the correct nutrition, your immune system will be prepared to fight and prevent bacterial and viral infections that cause colds and even cancer.
Our team at Wellness Architects wants you to go beyond hormone replacement therapy. We want to help you make lifestyle modifications through diet and exercise, as well as learn how to manage stress and sleep better. We want you to be in optimal conditions to live a longer, healthier life.
Just as we recommend eating healthier for optimal hormonal balance, we also recommend including exercise to your lifestyle. Exercise will improve how food is processed in your body.
RESTING METABOLIC RATE (RMR)
By appointment only, this test will be done under the Head Coach’s supervision. It will be performed individually and can be combined with a nutrition session.
The resting metabolic rate will allow us to know the specific amount of calories that you, as an individual, need to consume on a daily basis to be able to lose, gain, or maintain your current weight.
Before taking the test, the patient must be fasting, well hydrated, and must avoid exercise in the prior 24. Additionally, the test results will include the recommended amount of calories that should be burned during exercise, an estimate of how long it should take to reach that goal, and the type of metabolism the patient has: slow, normal, or fast.This test requires just 30 minutes to be completed and the results are given immediately.
